Larkhall Open Doubles Competition – Saturday 4th June

A reminder that this event is on Saturday 4th June, so please put this date in your diaries.

The aim of this Doubles event is to help to promote our club locally in Larkhall and also to support our friends in LSC.  Larkhall FC are desperately in need of a new tractor to help maintain the grounds and the profits from this event will be donated to their tractor fund.

This replaces the scheduled June Melee and is intended to be a fun afternoon for everyone, including beginners. Please make every effort to support this event and bring your friends – we have plenty of spare boules for beginners to borrow.

  • Registration commences at 1.30pm and the competition will complete by 6.00pm.
  • The entry fee is £5.00 per team, payable on the day.
  • Light refreshments will be served during the afternoon.

To enter the competition please email Diana Lockwood diana@bathboules.co.uk with the following details:

  • Team name
  • Captain and contact phone number

2016 EPA Licences

EPA licences are delivered to a single point of contact for the Club and, where practical, the 2016 licences have been distributed to members at club events.
If you have not yet received your 2016 licence it can be collected from LSC where all remaining licences are now stored. They are kept in the Club Shed and will need to be signed for, so please speak to a Committee member or the event’s Responsible Person when you are next at LSC.

Club Squads:

The Club has 2 squads, one for the Brunel league and one for EPA / GWR competitions.

CoBPC performance in competitions in the past has been poor, and we are aiming to improve performance by entering teams of squad members instead of teams of friends.

If you have experience of playing in leagues and are interested in joining the squad, talk to one of the coaches.

As a rough guide, the standard we aim for is to win 4 out of 6 points and the same for shooting.

Good players who attend Monday coaching sessions will also be approached by coaches to see if they are interested.

Final Reminder – Melee on Saturday 23rd April

A quick reminder that we are holding a second melee this Saturday afternoon, in Queen Square. This is part of the programme of events for our Dutch friends from Alkmaar who are here for the Spring Open competition and is an opportunity for club members to meet and compete with our visitors before Sunday’s main event.

Please make every effort to attend to swell numbers as Saturday is also the next round of the GWR ‘Race to Hayling’, in which a number of club members are participating this year.

The melee is of course open to everyone, not just club members, and the usual rules apply. Full details are available in the event calendar.
