A Game of Boules in Queen Square

April 29, 2015 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

£1.00

Join the growing number of people playing Boules on a regular basis. Starting in 2010 a number of players from the City of Bath Club decided that it would be a good idea to organise mid week game among like minded people during the day particularly making use of the limited daylight during the winter. This proved to be a success that it has now become a regular event. We welcome players from other clubs, not only in the region but across the country as well as encouraging new people to join in and learn the game while taking some exercise in the fresh air.

Every Wednesday starting at 11.00 a.m. a number of players get together to test themselves against other players. New players are welcome to come along and join in although we are required (under our insurance policy terms and conditions) that after 3 sessions you will need to join the English Petanque Association. Each player is asked to contribute £1 each week to cover the cost of hiring the square (Or as an alternative you can make an annual payment which has been set at £25). Don’t worry if you do not have your own set of boules, we can always find a spare set for you to use.

Lunch is also an option after the games and a group often gather in the Harington Club for a sandwich or soup and roll and some liquid refreshment to discuss the days events and plan the rest of the day. it has even been known for several players to return to the Piste to continue to practice their skills.

We play in most types of weather and have only been deterred by snow and heavy rain.
