Don Grimes
Don Grimes – Playing Manager

 

Don started playing around 2003 when his business was invited by the Chamber of Commerce to enter the Bath League de Pétanque. He has taken part in the inaugural City of Bath trips to Aix, Alkmaar and Braunschwieg. He was elected Chairman on the formation of the club in 2005 and served until 2009 when he was elevated to Club President. He serves as a member of the Management Committee of the EPA .Don Chaired the formation of the Bath Thursday Boules League in 2009 and the Bath Open in 2007. He is also an EPA Club Coach.

 

 

Cary Bush
Cary Bush Treasurer and Membership Secretary

 

Cary started playing pétanque casually in 2007 and joined the club in 2009 after being persuaded to join the club tour ( to make up the numbers) to Aix-en-Provence.  He currently serves as the Treasurer and Membership Secretary, the same role that he also holds for the Great Western region. He is also a qualified EPA coach and EPA umpire. He is also the National Treasurer for the EPA

 

 

 

Diana Lockwood
Diana Lockwood – Club Chair

Diana started playing petanque in 2006, and joined the Club committee the same year.  She was Club Secretary from 2011 to 2015, and was elected Club Chair in March 2015.  Since early 2014 Diana has been project managing the design and construction of the new Club terrains at Larkhall Sports Club. Diana is also an EPA qualified coach and enjoys coaching both junior and senior players. Diana represents the Club on the Bath Alkmaar Twinning Committee, and is currently organising the Club Tour to Alkmaar in October 2015.

Diane ( or Di to her friends) has been playing Pétanque with the City of Bath Pétanque Club since May 2012.

Years ago, when she was Chairman of The Lydiards Twinning Association in Wiltshire, she and her late husband played socially whenever they travelled to France, but being in the City of Bath Club has given her the first experience of competitive playing.

After taking early retirement from teaching, Di started her own group travel company specialising in taking groups, firstly to France, then Worldwide.

Di and her friend Terry Basson have visited and played pétanque in all 4 of Bath’s twin cities as well as in Guernsey and Jersey.

They have also been members of  a Thursday League team since  2013  with the team name of L’arc en Ciel which translated means ‘Rainbow’

 

Mike Woodward
Mike Woodward – Committee member

Mike started playing Pétanque in 2012 after taking early retirement from the MoD. Since then he has played for the Club in the Brunel League and now Captains one of the Thursday League teams. He became a committee member in 2015.
