Club subscriptions are now due and must be paid before the end Jan 2019.
Members will have received email notifications from Petanque England (PE) about their new on-line payment system and this has been configured to allow City of Bath Club members to pay their Club subscriptions via the PE system. Please note this is only possible for full Club members and Associate members will have to pay Club subscriptions separately.
The City of Bath Petanque Club is a PE affiliated Club and membership will lapse if their PE and Club memberships are not renewed by the end Jan 19. This is essential for insurance purposes and 2018 members will be prohibited from playing at any Club sessions at LSC, or Queen Sq, until they have a valid 2019 licence – sorry!
Please contact Cary Bush if you have any membership queries or require help in using the new system.
A warning for those of you who travel to LSC via Charlcombe Lane – the lane will be closed to through traffic from early February for 6 weeks for the annual toad migration!
Chris McGinn is still looking for prizes for our Bath Open raffle. The raffle is a major source of income for the club, so please see if you can help by donating a prize.
Please contact Chris McGinn if you can help. Items can be brought on the day or, alternatively, can be left in the shed for safekeeping.
This Saturday is a Family Fun Day at the home of the Larks. Come and have fun with the family and enjoy the day with games, many fun stalls, and local bands to entertain you. Costs you nothing to pass the ticket office – just you and your family required. Oh, just one thing, please bring smiles and sunny weather (smile).
Two local bands Savvy Soul and Skidmarks will entertain you in the evening. Be there to support the unity of Larkhall this Saturday from 1.00 pm to 10.00 pm.
The mini Beast from the East which disrupted events yesterday has passed and Clive kindly assessed the state of the lanes from Larkhall to LSC for us early this morning, which were passable with care.
As the snow is now melting rapidly the decision has been taken to proceed with tonight’s AGM, starting at published time of 7.00 pm, so please do make every effort to attend.

Note from the Chair – Chris McGinn
We are now looking forward to an exciting 2018, when I believe we will become of age, in the playing sense, with the recent appointment of Clive de Silva, as Playing Manager. You can be assured that he will improve our play, increase our competitiveness and make us a Club people are proud to join.
Everyone is welcome to attend the End of Year Dinner, to be held at Larkhall Sports Club on 11 January 2018, when I’m sure we’ll eat and be merry. We will also be recognizing our members who have either played exceptionally well, improved the most or contributed in different ways to the running of the club, this year. Applications forms have been sent out and they should be returned to the address quoted asap.
In the meantime, I hope all of you will achieve your aims for 2018 and enjoy all the benefits, COBPC can offer you.
Executive Committee
There was no Committee meeting in Dec. The next meeting is on 18th January. If you wish an item to be raised please contact sally@bathboules.co.uk and she will add it to the agenda.
